About the Ruidoso Concert Association |
The Ruidoso Concert Association,
now beginning its 18th season, has presented a variety of
professional, family entertainment continuously since 1989. It is a
tax-deductible 501(c)3 organization. It continues to be a prominent part of
Ruidoso and Lincoln County's entertainment scene. The Board Members of The Ruidoso Concert Association are volunteers who conduct all of the Association's activities. These include fund-raising, ticket sales, advertising, contracting, hospitality for the artists and assisting with stage set-up. Artists are paid, of course, but Board Members volunteer their time and money. There is no paid staff. The Ruidoso Concert Association contributes to Ruidoso's economy in many ways. Hotel rooms and meals are provided for the performers, paid by the Ruidoso Concert Association. Many audience members travel hundreds of miles to se the shows. While here they eat in Ruidoso restaurants and frequently stay overnight in Ruidoso hotels and motels. All shows are now held at the Ruidoso Performing Arts Center of Ruidoso Schools on Warrior Drive, near the High School. Theater Arts students at Ruidoso High School learn stage lighting, sound, theater management and other stage preparations by assisting The Ruidoso Concert Association at its shows. |
